Velocetec Advanced Material Manufacture.

During the Summer of 2019, we were approached by two of our existing customers regarding the machining of non-metallic materials. When we moved to larger premises in September that year we created a subdivision for this new work.

A separate air-conditioned machine shop was built within our current Portsmouth headquarters. This air-tight facility was to house two brand new 5 axis machines specifically for non – metallic manufacture of materials such as CFRP, tooling boards, plastics & graphite to name but a few.

A centralised dust extraction system was commissioned for the CNC machines and vertical bandsaw to capture the airborn particles created during the manufacturing process. Air benches were installed for any post-machining work. This subdivision has also supported our transition into injection mould tool manufacture with graphite electrode manufacture. With the recent introduction of our third five-axis machine, we are now starting to offer these services out to a wider market.
